The Real Ghostbusters
“The Real Ghostbusters” is an American animated TV series that extends the Ghostbusters franchise. Airing from 1986 to 1991, it was a collaborative production by Columbia Pictures Television, DiC Enterprises, and Coca-Cola Telecommunications. The title includes “The Real” to differentiate it from Filmation’s Ghost Busters properties. The show follows the continued exploits of paranormal investigators Dr. Peter Venkman, Dr. Egon Spengler, Dr. Ray Stantz, Winston Zeddemore, their secretary Janine Melnitz, and their ghostly mascot, Slimer.
Additionally, the series inspired two ongoing comic book lines: one published monthly by Now Comics in the United States and another released weekly by Marvel Comics in the United Kingdom. It also spawned a popular toy line produced by Kenner.
