The Christmas Card

After enduring a harrowing deployment in Afghanistan, US Army Sergeant Cody Cullen’s mission takes a tragic turn when his friend Jonesy is killed by an explosion while they are delivering medical supplies in Nurestan. Cody is tasked with returning Jonesy’s personal belongings to his widow. On his journey back, he stops in Nevada City, California, where he encounters Faith Spelman, who writes Christmas cards to lonely soldiers, including Cody, who is an orphan. By chance, Cody prevents Faith’s father, Luke, from being hit by a car. Grateful, the Spellman family invites Cody to join them for dinner and later for the Christmas season. Cody becomes a valuable asset to their family logging business. Vietnam veteran Luke hopes Cody will become his son-in-law, but despite being captivated by Cody, Faith remains seemingly committed to her often-absent fiancé, Paul, a wine broker.
