When Emery was just six, an alien ship crash-landed in her quiet hometown. The intentions of these extraterrestrial visitors, known as the Atrians, were irrelevant as a fierce battle ensued between humans and the new arrivals. Amidst the chaos, Roman, a young Atrian boy, stumbled upon a shed behind Emery’s house. There, she shielded him from danger, offering him food, solace, and friendship. A decade later, the Atrians have adjusted to life on Earth but remain confined in a heavily-guarded area called the Sector, isolated from humans. For the first time, a group of Atrian teenagers is set to attend a suburban human high school, aiming to explore the possibility of human and alien coexistence. Emery and Roman reconnect in a school and society filled with suspicion towards the Atrians. As the world around them seethes with hostility and bias, their relationship grows stronger and increasingly perilous.
