The Chair

This documentary series chronicles the journey of two novice filmmakers, Shane Dawson and Anna Martemucci, as they each get the chance to direct their own films based on the same original script. “The Chair” will capture the entire process, from production to marketing and theatrical release, with the audience ultimately deciding, through multiplatform voting, which director will win a $250,000 prize.

Dawson is a prominent internet personality with YouTube comedy channels that have amassed over 10 million subscribers and more than a billion views. Martemucci is a writer, actor, and filmmaker known for co-writing, producing, and starring in the indie film “Breakup at a Wedding.” Both directors will have the freedom to shape their films using their unique creativity and backgrounds. Actor Zachary Quinto, along with his producing partners Corey Moosa and Neal Dodson, will collaborate with Moore and the script’s original producer, Josh Shader, to mentor Dawson and Martemucci.
