After spending 19 years on Death Row for the alleged rape and murder of his teenage girlfriend, Daniel Holden is finally returning home. His conviction has been overturned thanks to new DNA evidence. Now, he must navigate a world that feels unfamiliar, and his reintegration into society might prove to be as harsh as his time in prison. Daniel is tormented by his past, burdened by the present, and unsure about what lies ahead. As he attempts to adjust to his new reality, his return stirs up old fears in his small town and threatens to disrupt the delicate peace within his family. The crime he was accused of once split the community. Will his release cause it to fracture even further?
