Perfect Strangers
“Perfect Strangers” is a U.S. sitcom that aired for eight seasons on ABC, from March 25, 1986, to August 6, 1993. Created by Dale McRaven, the show follows the tumultuous relationship between Larry Appleton, a Midwesterner, and his distant cousin Balki Bartokomous, who hails from Eastern Mediterranean Europe.
The series initially premiered with a brief six-episode run on Tuesdays in the spring of 1986. It then shifted to a prime-time slot on Wednesdays in the fall of the same year, where it stayed until March 1988. At that point, it moved to Fridays, becoming a cornerstone of ABC’s original TGIF Friday-night lineup, although it briefly aired on Saturdays in 1992.
