Emma Norman enjoys a lively Spring break at Mintners Cove beach in California with her friends, Lori, who is looking for a new romance, and Stefanie, who is focused on her studies. During their vacation, they meet the charming Greg Vlasi, who entertains them and records videos of their time on the beach and a yacht, possibly while they are under the influence of alcohol or drugs. These videos are manipulated and released online as adult content by Nick Bronson in Los Angeles. As a result, Emma’s once-promising career as a school teacher in Minneapolis is ruined. Her firefighter fiancé, David, from her small hometown of Prairie, breaks up with her, and even her father’s business faces a boycott.
